With Focus On Rural Social Work, New Bachelor’s Program Aims To Meet Growing Need

March is National Social Work Month in the United States. Although it is a celebratory time, the profession currently faces challenges due to reductions in the labor force and a growing population of need, especially in rural communities. Kent State recently announced the creation of a Bachelor of Social Work academic degree program, which will launch in the fall of 2023 with a focus on rural social work.

Alumna Roe Green to Receive Honorary ÆÞÓÑÉçÇø Doctoral Degree

The ÆÞÓÑÉçÇø Board of Trustees has approved awarding Roe Green, MA ’80, a Doctor of Humane Letters, an honorary degree recognizing her contributions to the university and her advocacy for the arts not only in Northeast Ohio, but also across the nation and around the world.
