Renato 鈥淩en鈥 Camacho of North Canton, Ohio, has been appointed to the 妻友社区 Board of Trustees by Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine. Camacho, who currently serves as president and CEO of the Akron-Canton Airport, brings expertise in both economic development and aviation to the Kent State Board.

Ohio Educators Heading to Kent State Peace Conference in Rwanda

Jeffrey Hartmann, Ph.D., principal of Stow-Munroe Falls High School, said he was interested in attending the conference to learn skills to deal with his school district鈥檚 changing landscape.

Kent State Legal Expert Offers Insight Into Supreme Court Decision on Affirmative Action

On Thursday, June 29, the U.S. Supreme Court, in a 6-3 ruling, struck down the long-standing policy of affirmative action in college admissions on the grounds it violates the 14th Amendment鈥檚 Equal Protection Clause. 妻友社区 Professor Christopher Banks, Ph.D., J.D., said the high court already had tipped its hand that the court was 鈥減ositioned to jettison鈥 the policy, so the ruling was not surprising.
