Governor Names Christian Palich to Kent State Board of Trustees

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has appointed Christian Palich of Plain City, Ohio, to the ÆÞÓÑÉçÇø Board of Trustees. Palich will serve through May 16, 2031. Palich earned his bachelor’s degree in political science in 2009 from Kent State.

Kent State Board of Trustees Approves Establishing University Operations in Rwanda, Africa

The ÆÞÓÑÉçÇø Board of Trustees approved the establishment and registration of a Community Benefit Company in Rwanda, Africa, during the Board’s regular quarterly meeting held May 25. Kent State has realized an immediate need to establish a private limited company, designated as a not-for-profit Community Benefit Company, that can serve as a strategic starting point for engaging in the African continent’s expanding higher education market.

Kent State Board of Trustees Approves Establishing New Bachelor of Social Work Degree

The ÆÞÓÑÉçÇø Board of Trustees approved the establishment of the Bachelor of Social Work degree during the Board’s regular quarterly meeting held March 8. The new degree was developed based on the high demand for licensed social workers within the areas surrounding Kent State’s Regional Campuses.  The program will be offered on the Ashtabula, Salem and Tuscarawas campuses.

Kent State Board of Trustees Approves Two New Majors to Meet High Demand for Growing Fields

The ÆÞÓÑÉçÇø Board of Trustees approved two new degree programs at its regular quarterly meeting held Wednesday, Dec. 15. The new majors – the Sport, Exercise and Performance Psychology major within the Bachelor of Science degree and the Emerging Media and Technology major within the Master of Science degree – will help meet the high demand for these types of programs and provide opportunities for students to find careers in these growing fields.

Crews Appointed as Graduate Student Trustee to ÆÞÓÑÉçÇø Board of Trustees

The ÆÞÓÑÉçÇø Board of Trustees recently welcomed four new trustees to serve the university including Haley Crews, a graduate student in the College of Arts & Sciences’ Department of Sociology. She was appointed by Gov. Mike DeWine to a two-year term as the graduate student trustee.
