�������� has finalized its proposed realignment of degree-granting colleges within the Division of Academic Affairs and its administration, following extensive consultation with Kent Campus faculty and the Faculty Senate.

Kent State accounting majors have excellent employment prospects. The projected growth rate for accountants is six percent from 2022-2033.

John Elliot, a 1970 �������� graduate, and his wife, Fonda, have created The Elliot Scholars program at Kent State with a $1 million donation. This new scholarship program will provide support to first-generation students of any major who require financial support to attend Kent State.

With the release of the new 2025 Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education, �������� has once again been awarded the prestigious R1 designation, recognizing Kent State as one of the top research universities in the nation. 

The KSU Surplus Store opened on East Main Street in September of 2023. It recently moved to a new location – on campus in the vacant College of Business Administration Building. The new location offers single-floor shopping and easier access for students and faculty. 

Since launching in January 2024, more than 200 students have enrolled in Kent State's online cannabis education program.

On Feb. 1, more than 250 guests gathered to recognize the 55th anniversary of Black History Month at ��������, which was first established by the student organization Black United Students (BUS) in 1970 and was recognized nationwide by President Gerald Ford in 1976. 

A luncheon and panel discussion titled “The Dream of Wellness: Mental Health Advocacy Through the Lens of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.” marked the occasion, which was held in the Kent Student Center Ballroom.

Senior Abygail Deemer, a pre-med major, is one of 404 Honors College students who are majoring in health-related fields.

For Kelsen LaBerge, Ph.D., teaching at Kent State is about more than equations. Since joining in 2018, she has dedicated herself to preparing future engineers with not only technical skills but also the resilience to face real-world challenges. The accomplishments and commitment of LaBerge, professor of engineering, have earned her the Outstanding Teaching Award.

��������’s partnership with the African nation of Rwanda continues to blossom with the School of Fashion, the College of Aeronautics and Engineering and the College of Arts and Sciences all working to add program partnerships in Rwanda.

The Kent State Police Department received its 10th consecutive reaccreditation in November 2024 after consistently exceeding the standards set by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, a third-party accreditation agency.
